Review of Hoft Fence System Install

Our first experience installing this product was mostly good. Fence post are high quality extruded aluminum that are very easy on the eyes. Combined with either stained wood or compound horizontal slats it makes for a very beautiful, and pleasingly different view. It is very important that you choose your boards extremely carefully and make highly accurate measurements, otherwise sliding and locking them in the channels becomes difficult. Prior to setting post we found that setting them in place in the dry concrete and securing the lowest board between the post to insure accurate alignment was helpful. Once that was accomplished we made sure everything was level and then added our water to set our quickset concrete. The gate was a problem in that there was a misprint in the instructions and the picture showed the gate boards even at top and bottom of the frame. This is impossible using the spacers given and we were left having to rip the bottom board in half in order to get it even at the bottom with the frame. Despite these issues was very pleased.
